First topic of the month - Stockpiling

When you hear the term stockpile, what do you think of? Well, most of us think of the huge stockpiles we see on the TLC tv show extreme couponing. Where they have 12 year supply of laundry soap, 100 boxes of cereal, and more paper towels the a Target store keeps in stock. These are the extreme stockpiles. Yes, they do save a lot of money and time by having it all on hand. I don’t know about your house, I don’t have the room for an extreme stockpile.

Over the next week we are going to talk about ways have a stockpile with limited space.

Your homework for this week is- look at the items you are always buying and and the amount used this week. For example, If you are always buying the same lunch meat very week put it on the list. The list will help you see what items you need to stockpile. I will not ask you to share your list with the group. I will be sharing some of my must haves with you as this week goes on.

Shopping trip with mom

My mom wanted me to be with her when she shopped to make sure her coupon deals where done right.  Everything was going smooth until we were looking at the coffee creamers, and I realized that I left my Chai on a low flame on the stove.  Thanks God I live really close to the Champaign Meijers.  I ran home to save my chai and house from the open flame.  My mom took the 10 minutes to go off our coupon plan.  By the time I got back to the store she had her cart filled with full price items.  The other mistake she did was to pick up only half of the items she need for the free items deal.  I tried to fix as much of the issues in her cart.  Here are the deals she got after I corrected her cart.

Kindle Fire...True Love

Im truly in love with my Kindle Fire! A dear friend, Sandeep Janjua blessed me with the Kindle Fire for Christmas. He thought it would be something I would truly enjoy, and be able to keep up with the changing world around us. How right he was. I love it. I find myself using it every day to the point Im not able to put it down. I have fallen sleep reading to find the kindle fire still in my hand the next morning. Plus it can be used as an alarm clock too. The Fire is so easy to use, even my 2 ½ year old niece was able to use it without any problems on Christmas.

This e-reader is so much more then just a book reader. Of course, I can do the standard book and newspaper reading on it. It also handles all different kinds of apps. I have loaded some games, cook books and Indian news papers, chat programs and photos. Plus the fire comes with Pluse - radio, imdb - movie reviews, and facebook preload. It’s so easy to load new items and navigate from one book shelf to another one. The keyboard is big enough for even the biggest finger to use.  If you buy it from Amazon, they give you one free month of their prime account.  You get free shipping on all orders plus down load books from their user library. 

If you are looking for an e-reader that has a little extra muscle the fire is it. I cant thank Sandeep enough for my Kindle fire.

Just bought my Christmas Gift.

Some times the best Christmas gifts are the ones we buy for our self.  You know it will always fit, be the right color, and be the best for your needs.  So what did I get, a 8' touchscreen tablet.  It's the best price I could find with the biggest memory, 2 cameras, biggest screen and a few extra.

Got to love couponing....

Before I started couponing it have very rear for me to have cereal in the house.  It was hard for me to justify the cost compare to amount of meals I would get out of it.  Since I have been couponing I several different kinds of cereal to pick from.  Now I can justify having it when I pay so little for it.   My golden rule is pay no more then 70 cents for a standard size box, (10-14 oz) or 1.50 for the giant box.
